now offering : feather hair extensions

One part bohemien chic and one part urban hipster...feathering is the hottest fashion/beauty trend to hit 2011.  Starting as a saturday market, flower child service in college towns of both Boulder, Colorado and Eugene, Oregon this innovative hair accesory is showing up in even the most fashion forward urban cities.  The fashion blog communtiy is craving this trend as girls in LA and San Francisco are embracing this extensions full force.  While in New York the feathers are being offered to manhattan socialites in salons and favorite high end fashion botiques.

It was only a matter of time before i got to experience these colorful hair locks first hand.  And that's when i saw them tousled into my co-worker Kristinas sexy sexy hair.  The turquoise feathers popped next to her copper colored tresses.  Wow.  That was when i knew i had to get these into the salon asap.  I mean who doesn't wanna play indian princess every now and again?

Depending on each clients desired results you can keep the look very subtle or add an extreme feather touch to the mane.  Colors range from natural tones (white/tans/blacks/auburns/etc) to fashion colors (red/pink/blue/green/orange/etc).  For a natural look with a bit of flair choose a tone close to your current haircolor and we'll apply only a few strands.  This look can be a bold yet classy look as the extensions are blended well with the rest of your neatly groomed hair.   For clients looking for a much more fiesty extravagant feather extension look you can choose as many color combinations and vary the amount of extensions or the placement for whatever pop you'd like.  The possibilities are endless... and you are guaranteed to feel at least a little wild and fun and a lot sexy.

The feathers themselves can be washed, combed, blowdried, flatiron and even curled with your normal day to day styling routine.  Extensions can be a night out on the town experience or can last any where from a few weeks to a few months depending on your own personal care and upkeep. Feathers may be reused when still in good condition.

Pricing :

$10 per extension when added on to any hair service.

$10 set up fee + $10 per extension (if not added to another hair service)

rebekah : new texurized curly cut

Rebekah was my first "real client" in my beauty career... before her i'd had the privilege of apprenticing with a salon owner and stylist of 12 years, taking on her clientele upon her maternity leave, and working for almost nothing in the dorms of my sister's college making over students for any hands on experience i could get.  It was one of those students (my dear friend Sara Anderson) who while working at a coffee shop had the opportunity to grace me with my first client referral.  And that was when Rebekah called me up hoping i could give her a similar shaggy rocker razor cut.  I booked her appointment and now 6 years and so many haircuts later i still get to see this chick in the salon and know that she's always rockin out my latest creation in her beautifully fashionable way.

One thing i love about Rebekah is that she's never afraid to be true to herself.  She is one of the only people i've ever worked on who fully embraces her natural hot red hue and the curly texture that most women laboriously flatten on a daily basis.  I created this cut to enhance her hair's naturally beautiful wave while also giving soft shape to her angular model-like jawline.   Razor cuts and texturizing her bangs allows her to achieve an almost effortless hairstyle each an every morning.  Easy hair is a necessity for a momma to two but that doesn't have to mean that everyone in her life can't assume she spent an hour this morning styling it just right.  That'll stay her own secret beauty trick!
